Atlanta, GA – Three Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on I-85
Atlanta, GA (March 4, 2022) – On Friday morning, March 4, three people were killed in a fatal truck accident that took place on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of 17th Street. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when the vehicle slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known. The accident caused severe damages to the truck.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Three people inside the passenger vehicle were severely injured and were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. One of the parties has since been identified as a 26-year-old woman.
Due to the severity of the collision, all northbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area until 7:25 a.m. This led to delays in the area for a period of time.
