Atlanta, GA (December 15, 2022) – A pedestrian sustained injuries in an accident that took place at an airport in Atlanta on the evening of Saturday, December 10.
According to Atlanta officials, the accident happened around 6 p.m. at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Police confirmed that a ramp agent was guiding a flight into a gate when they were struck by a service truck that was in the area. The driver was allegedly distracted with their tablet at the time of the accident.
Several responders, including Atlanta fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. When EMS crews found the victim, they found her bleeding from her head. She was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, though their condition is not yet known. It is believed that she sustained broken bones, a fractured skull, and a concussion.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. The driver of the service truck was cited and was stripped of his airport badge.
