Atlanta, GA (November 10, 2022) – Around 11:32 p.m. on Monday, November 7, a hit-and-run accident took place in Atlanta that led to injuries in one pedestrian.
According to Atlanta Police Department officials, the accident happened on Lanier Boulevard. Police were dispatched to a home in the area where they discovered that a pedestrian was struck by an SUV. The driver in the lightly-colored SUV then fled the scene of the accident without stopping. A private camera caught the SUV on camera, though it is not yet known if the driver was found.
Atlanta fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained injuries as a result of the accident. They were hospitalized, though their current condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal in the area.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts go out to the party who has been hurt in this accident. We hope that they receive a full recovery.
