Athens, GA – Driver Injured in Car Crash at Carlton St & E Campus Rd Intersection
Athens, GA (October 27, 2022) – A driver was injured in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Athens on Tuesday night, October 25.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Carlton Street and East Campus Road. Police confirmed that two drivers were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with each other. The involved vehicles both sustained damage in the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the involved drivers sustained a neck injury in the accident. It is not known if they were taken to the hospital or not.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
