Bicycle Accidents in Georgia

Bicycle accidents are not as common as many other types of accidents on Georgia roads. However, when they do occur, they tend to lead to some of the most catastrophic results. This is due to the fact that bicyclists have no protection from harm in the event of an accident. Pedestrian and bicycle-related accidents represent approximately 17% of all motor vehicle accidents that led to fatalities in 2019 alone. In 2019, it was also determined that approximately 21 bicyclists lost their lives in fatal accidents. If you have suffered due to a bicycle accident, you should be prepared to speak with an attorney that you can trust.

Facing the aftermath of a bicycle accident might be one of the most challenging things that you have ever endured. These accidents lead to some of the most severe injuries. These injuries include some of the following:

  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Internal organ damage
  • Paralysis
  • Road rash

Drivers are supposed to do anything in their nature possible to take precautions on our roads so that bicycle accidents can be prevented. Still, they continue to happen every year. If you have been hurt in a bicycle-related crash, you should seek the help of an Athens personal injury attorney who has your best interests in mind.
