Deadly High-Speed Crashes in South Carolina

Anderson, SC - Driver Killed in Crash with Sherriff’s Deputy

It is well known that speeding increases the likelihood of a serious car accident. Every year, thousands of people are killed by speeding motorists, a problem that is particularly acute in South Carolina. Many fatal accidents are directly caused by speeding. In 2018, 9,378 people were killed in high-speed collisions in the United States. That means that speeding motorists kill nearly 25 people every day.

You should file a wrongful death claim if a loved one was killed in an accident. These claims are governed by a number of complicated rules, including who can file a claim and when a wrongful death claim in South Carolina is appropriate. A wrongful death lawsuit is an option when the at-fault party was the direct cause of the victim’s death. With the help of an Anderson personal accident lawyer, a representative of the deceased should file a claim and attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence.
