Americus, GA – Head-on Collision Leads to Injuries on Lamar Rd 

Americus, GA (September 4, 2022) – Around 4:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, September 2, a head-on collision with injuries took place in Americus. 

According to Sumter County officials, the accident happened at 674 Lamar Road. When crews arrived at the scene, they found that a van and a tree-trimming vehicle collided head-on with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. Both vehicles sustained severe damage as a result of the accident. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One patient, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Another was rushed to the hospital by medical helicopter. The injured party’s conditions are not yet known. 

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
